On May 13, 2026, the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program released the First Look: 2025
Crime Data on the FBI's Crime Data Explorer (CDE). These estimates are based on data submitted
by more than 17,000 agencies, covering 96% of the population, for 2025.
A researcher at the Houston Methodist's Research Institute was hospitalized following a stabbing
incident.
Multiple people witnessed the incident and provided first aid before the Houston Fire and Police
Department
arrived. The Houston Police Department is investigating, and they don't think it was a planned
attack.
